World Leaders Move Forward on Climate Change, Without U.S.

Nineteen of the world's twenty largest economies agreed to honor their commitments to the Paris Agreement, the nations announced at the G20, from the New York Times:

At the G20 Conference in Hamburg, Germany this weekend, the leaders of the world’s 20 largest economies reaffirmed their pledge to combating climate change, with one notable exception, the United States, reportsĀ The New York Times. Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany made climate a central topic at the conference and rallied the leaders of other nations around the importance of mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and curbing the worst effects of climate change. President Trump, on the other hand, focused his time and energy on trade deals and the Syrian issue.

President Emmanuel Macron of France also announced at the conference that his country will be hosting a climate summit this December, marking the two-year anniversary of the Paris Agreement.
