European Union and Other Non-U.S. Users
Because the Internet is global, information about you that we collect or that you submit may be transferred to, processed in, and held in countries (including the United States) other than the one in which you reside. YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION MAY BE PROCESSED BY US IN THE COUNTRY WHERE IT WAS COLLECTED AND IN THE UNITED STATES OR ANOTHER COUNTRY. THE UNITED STATES LAWS REGARDING PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION MAY BE LESS STRINGENT THAN THE LAWS IN YOUR COUNTRY.

How does the UN Foundation protect your Personal Information?
Access to Personal Information stored by us is restricted to those in our organization and our service providers that have a business need for such access. However, no security system is foolproof, and we cannot fully eliminate security risks with respect to your Personal Information. As a result, while your privacy is very important to us, we cannot fully ensure that your Personal Information will not be disclosed to third parties. If applicable law imposes any non-disclaimable duty with respect to your Personal Information, you agree that the standard used to measure our compliance with that duty will be one of intentional misconduct.
We have no obligation to retain your Personal Information, and may dispose of your Personal Information at any time without notifying you, subject to the restrictions of applicable law. If you wish to keep a copy of your Personal Information, you must keep your own, separate back-up records.
How does the UN Foundation share the Personal Information it collects?

In those circumstances, we require that they use your Personal Information only as reasonably necessary to perform those services, and we require that they maintain the confidentiality of your Personal Information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.
(b) Public Information. There may be areas of our Sites (e.g., reviews, comments, blogs and online forums) in which you are able to post information, including Personal Information, that will be available to all other users of our Sites. By choosing to use these areas, you understand and agree that anyone may access, use, and disclose any information that you post to those areas.
(c) Special Disclosure Scenarios. Notwithstanding anything else in this Privacy Policy, we reserve the right, and you hereby expressly authorize us, to share any Personal Information: (1) in response to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish, protect, or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; (2) if we believe it is necessary in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, fraud, or situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person or property; (3) if we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding significant abuse of the Sites or the Internet in general (such as voluminous spamming, denial of service attacks, or attempts to compromise the security of information); (4) to our affiliated organizations (in which case we will require such entities to honor this Privacy Policy); and (5) if we are acquired by or merge with another organization.

Email Scams
Several deceptive emails claiming to be from or associated with the United Nations Foundation, Ted Turner and Timothy Wirth are circulating on the Internet. These emails often include our logo, photos, links, or other information from our Sites.
Some emails claim the recipient has won a lottery or other prize and request detailed personal information or a payment of some kind in order to receive the winnings. Some mention other foundations and organizations based in London and the United Kingdom, none of which we believe are a part of these scams. Other emails direct recipients to Web sites that promise large returns on investments and claim a portion of returns will be donated to the foundation.
The sources and contents of these emails, Web sites, and accompanying materials are in no way associated with the United Nations Foundation, Mr. Turner or Mr. Wirth. For your own protection, we strongly recommend not responding to emails making such claims.
The UN Foundation has reported, and will continue to report, these deceptive spam emails to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). For more information about the FTC’s efforts against deceptive spam, please visit www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/edcams/spam/report.html. For more information about the IC3, please visit www.ic3.gov/. For information on the FBI, please visit www.fbi.gov/, or contact your local FBI office.
You can also email your inquiries about scam email, letters, and phone calls to [email protected].
Notification of Changes
The UN Foundation reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes to http://www.unfoundation.org/privacy-policy.html or other relevant areas of our Sites or email notice of those changes to you at the email address we have on file for you. If you use any of our Sites after we make notice of any changes available, you will be deemed to have read and agreed to the changes.
