Of all 14 Millennium Villages across Africa, Sauri — a cluster of 11 — in western Kenya may have received the most criticism — from technocrats, policy makers to researchers.
Understandably, because it was the first under the grand project, and there were mistakes to be made and lessons to be learnt.
We worry whether we will still have access to free health care services once the programme concludes.
Set up in 2003, the Sauri Millennium Village Project has made strides in a number of sectors including health, education, infrastructure and agriculture.
