Tere González has more than ten years of experience in the nonprofit sector and she currently serves at the Public Affairs team of the United Nations Foundation as an Atlas Corps Fellow. Prior to joining the Foundation she co-founded Liter of Light Mexico, in 2013, and Liter of Light Spain in 2012. She was part of the international team that incubated and launched Liter of Light India. In 2003, she co-founded Qohelet Foundation, a Mexican civil association committed to prevent crime, violence and addiction phenomena in vulnerable communities. At Qohelet Foundation she was the Head of Communications and Creative Projects. Throughout her career, she has built projects together with the public and private sector and joined as a volunteer in nonprofit organizations like the Gypsy Secretariat and Architects without Borders.
She earned a Master of Arts Degree in Cultural Engineering from the European University of Madrid, in Spain and a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree in Communication Studies from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, in Mexico City. In 2013, she was selected to represent Mexico at the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Summer School in New York. Tere is very interested and committed to lifelong learning and to achieve common goals on social development, intercultural dialogue and grassroots empowerment.
