John joined the SABMiller as General Counsel and Group Company Secretary in 2006. In November 2014 he assumed responsibility for regulatory affairs, communications and sustainable development, and is now General Counsel and Corporate Affairs Director. Before joining SABMiller, he spent his entire legal career at Lovells, a leading international law firm, where he was a partner from 1991, specialising in international corporate finance, cross border mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance advisory work. He was the Chairman of the GC100 group (the association of general counsel and company secretaries of companies in the FTSE 100) for 2010 and 2011.
