Journalists, community leaders, and policy and communications spokespeople are on the front lines of informing the public of global issues that affect the lives of citizens everywhere. As global leaders begin to implement the Sustainable Development Goals, move forward on the new climate agreement, and grapple with pressing issues including the worst refugee crisis since World War II, it is vital that journalists have the information they need to understand and report on global challenges. This enables journalists and communicators to better inform the public on the issues that affect their lives and to promote an open, transparent environment for decision-making.
The United Nations Foundation is partnering with the Thomson Reuters Foundation to inform and train journalists and communicators on sustainable development issues. On Friday, January 13th, at the Thomson Reuters headquarters building in London, UK, there will be a free, day-long, training on the Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular discussion on financial inclusion and food and hunger issues.
