World Food Day, observed this year on Sunday, October 16, will focus on food and climate change. In a message issued Friday to observe the day, Pope Francis said we all have a responsibility to protect the planet for future generations.
In his message to JosĂ© Graziano da Silva, Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization, Pope Francis urged “the climate is changing.” Francis said this “leads us to consider the fight against hunger as a goal even more difficult to achieve, in the presence of a complex phenomenon such as climate change.”
