China is the latest country to join an ambitious movement to phase out fossil-fuel-powered vehicles, reports Bloomberg News. The country will set a deadline for automakers to end the sales of vehicles using gasoline and diesel; a move that will accelerate the electric car market.
A looming ban will push local and global automakers to introduce more zero-emission electric cars to improve air quality in smog-filled cities. Countries such as the U.K., France and Scotland have introduced similar vehicle bans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
