Earth to Paris: Why I Care About Climate Change and COP2

A special series on climate change featuring contributors from leading organizations and change-makers from around the world.

For the first time in 20 years of UN negotiations, the world is on track to have a 2015 agreement at the 21st Convention of the Parties (COP21). Held from November 30 to December 11, this Convention aims to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C.

This is a really big moment for people around the world to come together and offer solutions to tackling the worst effects of climate change. And we want you to take part in it by telling us why the issues you are passionate about matter to COP21.

Special editorial series – Why I care about climate:
Leading up to COP21 and the Earth to Paris summit, Global Daily in partnership with Climasphere is featuring an editorial series focused on how the Global Goals connect to climate. We are specifically looking for contributions around the following topics:

• Week of Oct 26: How climate change is impacting global health
• Week of Nov 2: Women and girls impacted by climate change
• Week of Nov 9: Climate and sustainable cities
• Week of Nov 16: How youth are taking a stand for our planet
• Week of Nov 23: Climate and the new data revolution: How can we use data to tackle global warming
• Week of Nov 30: Why COP21 matters to me – advocacy and activism
• Week of Dec 7: How my city/country can join in on the Earth to Paris summit – tech and social media
• Week of Dec 14: What happened at COP21 and why it matters

Contributions will be featured in the UN Foundation’s drumbeat to Paris – on both Global Daily and Climasphere, in Global Daily weekly emails, during the weekly Earth to Paris Twitter chats, and more!
