50 Global Leaders Set to Attend One Planet Summit

The summit will focus on how those working in public and private finance can innovate to support and accelerate efforts to fight climate change.

December 12, 2017 marks the two-year anniversary of the Paris Agreement’s adoption.

To reaffirm the world’s commitment to the global climate challenge, around 50 leaders from around the world will gather in Paris for the One Planet Summit, hosted by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, the President of the World Bank Group, Jim Yong Kim, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres. In total, around 2,000 people from government and the private sector are anticipated and around 10 major announcements can be expected.

The one day program will focus on themes of climate finance, accelerating local and regional climate action, and strengthening policies for ecological and inclusive transition.
